Wow, I am genuinely impressed. First off, I'm pretty impressionable, so when I saw bad reviews (and by reviews, it was probably just one or two) for the fifth season (I think?), I jumped on the bandwagon of "this show sucks and it has something to prove." Well, from the last season, I remember the one with Aaron Paul being a cosmonaut and the one where the two kids uncover the underground freak ring or whatever it was. And what I took away from it was the former was the better and the latter was the weaker. All in all I remember having a good time with those ones. Now, I had such a great time with this episode. It felt fresh. One of the things I liked the most was the pacing. At first, I thought it was a bit fast, but I got used to it as the story progressed, since this story did need to take place over a longer period of time, and of course, it's confined to it's hour-ish time block. This faster pacing also really upped the intensity of the story. The feeling of not quite knowing where it was going next. I'm a sucker for good suspense. I often feel like I'm able to guess where the story is going to go next, and am in turn, often disappointed. This one was a 50/50, which I think is a really great balance. Plenty to deduce from foreshadowing and context clues, and plenty left up for surprise. Since I'm not really a critic, and I don't want to be, that's all I gotta say. Great episode, excited for the rest of the season. Now, it's time for me to go to bed at 11:30 because I'm jaded and old.
