## Ingredients
- 2 ¼ Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 t baking soda
- ½ t salt (if using unsalted butter)
- ½ Cup butter, softened
- ½ Cup butter flavor shortening
- ¾ Cup dark brown sugar, packed
- ¾ Cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
## Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°
2. Whisk to combine flour, baking soda, and salt (if using) in bowl
3. Cream butter, shortening, and sugars with mixer until lighter in color and slightly fluffy
4. Add eggs, one at a time, until fully combined
5. Add flour mixture gradually in batches, fully combining after each addition (scape sides of bowl)
6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using)
7. Scoop onto lined cookie sheets, should about golf ball (cookie scoop size)
8. Bake until just barely brown around edges, about 8-10 min. These are trash when overbaked, delicious when underbaked
9. Cool on sheet for 5 min, transfer to rack to fully cool
